Clipsource Provides a Media Center in Iceland
As Helena Gustafsson, CEO of Storytel’s audiobook publishing wing, StorySide, was speaking at London Book Fair on Wednesday (March 12), an announcement came from Reykjavik and Stockholm that Storytel has opened a new media center for the Icelandic market.
The new availability is a partnership with Clipsource, a platform for data distribution that provides a range of data based in user activity.
At the audiobook distributor and publisher’s base in Sweden, public relations manager Therese Lindström was quoted, saying that the new media center “will be an integral part of our media strategy,” designed as it is to provide journalists and business partners access to news, samples, previews, images, and videos.
Clipsource is also based in Stockholm and includes in its clients for media centers Warner Bros. studios; Discovery; TV-4; and Viaplay.
As Storytel’s staff puts it, the need to publish rich media has increased in recent years, because the more audio, video, images, and metadata offered for each title, the easier it is for consumers to find and understand the content.
For journalists and partners, easy access to pre-premier samples and screeners streamlines the reviewing process.
Clipsource automates the collection and distribution of media and data.

Therese Lindström
At Storytel, Lindström says, “Audiobooks make stories accessible to a fast-growing and passionate audience–anywhere and anytime.
“The media center that Clipsource provides for Storytel in Iceland will serve journalists with everything they need to cover the streamed storytelling revolution. The Media Center will be an integral part of our media strategy in Iceland”

Dan Willstrand
Dan Willstrand, the Clipsource CEO, says, “The audiobook industry is similar to the visual streaming industry in many respects.
“They launch new stories at a high frequency, rely heavily on subscription models, and need to share lots of content with journalists and partners.
