‘Overcoming the Barriers of Time and Market Access”

Ingram Content Group reaches publishers, booksellers, libraries, and authors in close to 150 countries and in more than 350 languages.

Today (March 20), the company’s Nashville offices say that a new exclusive commercial agreement makes Ingram the print-on-demand distributor to the States of Hachette Livre’s entire library of titles, both owned and distributed.

Reportedly, this is the largest catalogue of French classic, contemporary, and public-domain literature.

As it happens, Hachette Livre and Ingram have had a print-on-demand joint venture since 2010, in Lightning Source France on Avenue Gutenberg, no less, in Maurepas Cedex, southwest of Paris.

The two companies have worked together on distribution over the years, making French one of the most prevalent languages Ingram distributes among millions of non-English books.

Benoît Aubin

‘A More Sustainable and Environmentally Friendly Way’

Benoît Aubin, director of Hachette Livre’s publisher relations is quoted today, saying, “This new agreement further strengthens the strong partnership established more than 15 years ago between Ingram and Hachette Livre around print-on-demand solutions.

“This unique solution for printing and distribution through Ingram‘s international network will enable our publishers’ catalogues to be promoted even more effectively on an international scale and distributed in a more sustainable and environmentally friendly way by overcoming the barriers of time and market access.”

Janice Butler

And Janice Butler, director of content solutions for Ingram, says, “Growing our catalogue of non-English language titles breaks down barriers to distribution and allows readers to access content that might not otherwise be available locally through retailers and libraries.

“Through our international distribution and print network, we enable retailers and libraries to access the books that support their customers and patrons; we help publishers to find affordable and sustainable solutions for accessing markets; and we assist authors in reaching more readers.”
